Stopping Aging Skin
The problem with most skin care products is they don’t address the collagen breakdown issue. Adding moisture to the skin is great and will help it stay healthy but if you want to stop the look of aging you’ve got to go deeper. The Murad Resurgence Products, for example, include a serum that actually helps stop that breakdown.

Causes of Aging Skin
If you’ve ever wondered why our skin ages, here’s the answer: the breakdown of collagen and elastin in the skin. These are what are known as connective tissue and they are basically responsible for keeping your skin toned. When they start breaking down, however, you’ll end up with sagging, wrinkles, and dropping.

Aging Skin
Did you know that a study back in 2006 discovered that women’s skin actually ages faster than a man’s? This probably isn’t a surprise but it’s nice to know there’s some documentation to back up what most of us have known for a long time. Mother Nature definitely wasn’t playing fair in the youthful skin department.

Preventing Age Spots
The good news for me is that I’m less likely to get age spots because I take preventative steps like using sunscreen when I’m in the sun. And I would never use tanning beds either. To me, they seem like some type of torture device and I’d prefer to get tan the old-fashioned way or not at all. So as long as I keep using my Murad Resurgence products to keep my skin young looking and can avoid those pesky age spots I’ll be happy.

What Causes Age Spots?
Age spots aren’t caused by aging; they are caused by UV rays from the sun and from tanning beds. The UV light makes the cells in your skin which produce melanin (the pigment that determines your skin color) more active. When this extra melanin gets bunched together in one place, you get age spots.

The Horror of Age Spots
My sister called me today in a panic because she just discovered the first age spots on the back of her hand. Our mother had those spots all over her hands as she got older and both of us know they are a sign that she isn’t a spring chicken any more. Thankfully, she’s the older one.

The Pool Solution
If you are worried about the effects of chlorine on your skin, you should always have a good product available to apply to your skin after you get out of the pool and go inside. I typically use Murad Resurgence Products to keep my skin from drying out. It works well and lets me enjoy the pool.

The Pool 2
Here’s what I learned about the pool and your skin. As you know, most pools use chlorine to keep them clean and safe. But because the chlorine is designed to kill bacteria, it does the same thing on your skin while also killing a few layers of skin cells. The dead cells end up pulling water away from the healthy cells thus leaving your skin dry.

The Pool
Have you ever noticed that after you use the swimming pool your skin is always dry? Not as soon as you get out, obviously, but once you’ve let the sun dry off the pool water your skin will actually be drier. Because I love being in our pool every summer I decided to find out why this was the case.

Choosing the Best Product
Besides the humidifier, I also use Murad Resurgence products to keep my skin from getting too dry and sensitive. The products give me the results I want, and I have tried quite a few of other ones that are on the market without getting the desired results, particularly during winter.
