Scary Facts

beautifulskin-main_fullI tell you the more I research cosmetic surgery and procedures the more frightening it gets. Did you know that some people even travel to Mexico to have their procedures done because they are cheaper? Can you imagine getting surgery on a budget? I’d much rather use Murad Resurgence Products then cross the border for a low-cost face lift.

No Doctor Needed

chemical_peel430x300Did you know that some cosmetic procedures don’t require a physician to perform them? Chemical peels are one of the best examples. In some states, they can be done by non-physicians. When you consider that these peels literally involve chemically burning off layers of your skin, leaving you vulnerable to serious infections and other complication, you’d think that wouldn’t be the case

Surgical Dangers

surgery-clipart

Ok, I’m not trying to scare anyone who is considered major cosmetic surgery but I came across a horrifying statistic. According to the American Society of Anesthesiologists, 1 out of every 1,000 surgical patients is not fully “out” during the procedure. Can you imagine being awake during your facelift or your liposuction? Scary!!!!!!

My Sister’s Reaction

My sister called me this morning and told me that she received the products in the mail. She loved them and was really happy I thought of sending them to her. She’s going to start using them and let me know what she thinks in a couple of weeks. I’m so relieved that she was glad and that she decided not to have cosmetic surgery.

Update on My Sister

Spa RelaxingI talked to my sister yesterday. She hasn’t received the package I sent her yet. I hope she likes the products as much as I did. I’d feel much better about her aspirations to looking younger if I knew she wasn’t having a dangerous cosmetic procedure done. And I’m sure her checking account or credit card balance will be happy, too. Those procedures cost a fortune!

The Good News

quest-for-youthful-skinMy sister finally decided to do her own research into Botox and other cosmetic procedures. I sent her a few links (I couldn’t help trying to push her in the right direction). Some of the information really gave her a scare so she changed her mind. To show her how happy I was, I sent her a gift package of Resurgence products.

Dealing with Botox

botox_injectionSince my sister has decided to get these Botox injections, I decided it would be a good idea for me to study up on them a little bit more. For example, did you know that the cost per session is around $400 and has to be repeated every four months? Did you know that many of the doctors who are doing it don’t know that much about the anatomy of the face and are causing serious side effects, such as patients who can’t make facial expressions anymore?

My Sister’s Face Lift

jellyfish2Good news and bad news on this subject – First, my sister did reconsider about the face lift but not because of me. Her plastic surgeon gave her a higher estimate than she had anticipated. So, unfortunately, she has decided to invest in a few Botox treatments to tighten things up. While it is safer than going under the knife, I’m no advocate of jellyfish poison being used for beauty.

Risks of Face Lifts

hematomaIf the procedure wasn’t bad enough, here are some of the risks: muscle damage, scarring, crust forming on the incision site, healing problems, infections, hematomas that require additional surgery, and anesthesia reactions. I’m going to send her some products from Resurgence to see if that changes her mind any. I certainly hope so.

The Face Life Procedure

face-lift1After talking to my sister, I started reading up on face lifts and was horrified! They aren’t lying with that name! The doctor literally cuts your skin at the hairline so he or she can get to the fat and muscles underneath. I can’t even imagine what that would be like! And it can be done with just a local anesthetic. That means you could be awake while that’s going on! I think I’m going to have nightmares.
